Trench coat in fall and winter fashion

  A trench coat is a type of coat composed of heavy-duty, waterproof fabric. It was first created for British Army officers before World War I, and it gained popularity while being used in the trenches, hence the name. Trench coats were traditionally made of gabardine, a worsted wool fabric waterproofed with lanolin before weaving. Khaki was the usual color. Trench coats are typically double-breasted, including ten buttons on the front, broad lapels, a storm flap, and button-closing pockets. To prevent water from trickling down the forearm when using binoculars in the rain, the coat has raglan sleeves, culminating in cuff straps buckling over the wrists. The waist of the garment is secured with a self-belt. The coat frequently included button-closing epaulets, which had a purpose in a military setting.
